Nestled among vibrant gardens on the slopes of Mount Carmel, the Shrine of the Báb stands as a timeless symbol of peace, hope, and unity. It is the resting place of the Báb, the Herald of the Bahá’í Faith, and one of the world’s most recognizable spiritual landmarks.
Its golden dome, glowing in the light, is more than an architectural masterpiece. It symbolizes the search for truth, the illumination of knowledge, and humanity’s enduring aspiration for peace. The surrounding gardens reflect harmony between nature, beauty, and the human spirit.
With this painting, I sought not merely to portray a magnificent building, but to capture an atmosphere of serenity and contemplation—a place where people of every background may pause, reflect, and experience a sense of unity beyond the boundaries of culture, nationality, or belief.
Maqám-i-A‘lá is a tribute to the light of faith, the dignity of every human being, and the vision of the oneness of humanity—a vision that continues to inspire hope for a more peaceful world.
